Canon 200-400mm Disassembled in ‘Deep Inside’ Video

Have you ever wondered what the inside of the Canon 200-400mm lens looks like? What really goes on underneath that white armour is something that few photographers really understand. Whilst this video won’t give you an understanding of the true physics behind photography, it’ll give you an insight into the build and structure of a telephoto lens.

Canon has released an incredible ‘Deep Inside’ video, pulling apart one of its telephoto lenses (the Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM with 1.4x to be precise). This is super interesting, if not a little nerdy, for photographers everywhere.

All the components laid out neatly is a treat for anyone who likes organisation, and goes some way to justifying the rather large price tag that accompanies a lens such as this. When and if you do make your purchase, it’ll look like this:

We are hoping that this will be the beginning of a series of videos from Canon, as they do provide a very unique insight into the workings of lenses. Enjoy!
