Week 282: Signs of Summer
This week, we want to you take photographs of the signs of summer! Let’s take a look at things in the natural world that remind you of this beautiful season. If it is truly summer where you live, look for wildlife that becomes active at this time of year, or plants that bloom during these warmer months. What does summer mean to you? You may be inspired to capture the essence of this season in a more abstract way, such as using long exposure techniques on a moving body of water, like the ocean. If it is not the summer season where you live, instead look to photograph aspects of nature that remind you of this season. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for capturing new and interesting signs of summer in nature are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Macro– and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Carsten: ‘In the evening, shortly after sunset, I looked again in the garden at home for macro motifs and found them. This little yellow dung fly willingly allowed itself to be photographed for a stack. The shot was stacked and edited from 60 individual images in Affinity Photo 2. The photos were taken freehand.’
An excellent macro portrait with a display of technical skill. The stacking of this image allows us to appreciate the subject matter in great detail; a subject which we would not normally get to see with such clarity. A testament to the true excitement of macro photography! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
