Weekly Photography Assignment: Black and White Landscapes

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 211: Black and White landscapes

Our theme this week is Black and White Landscapes, and we’d love to see what creative images you can take of landscapes that lend themsleves well to black and white! Look for interesting and striking compositions, and try using leading lines or the rule of thirds. Find dramamtic skies, or incoperate interesting foreground within your images. Look for contrast between light and dark, highlight and shadow. This will help your black and white images to really stand out! Whether you’re a seasoned landscape photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for creative black and white landscape photos are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Macro Winter Photography – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Jeff Morrow-Lucas; “Post freezing rain, with a touch of rainbow bokeh, makes for interesting subjects!” This is a fascniating image of a subject easy to pass by. The use of coloured light and bokeh really draws our eye in to a crisp and delicately detailed macro subject. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
