Weekly Photography Assignment: Winter Beginnings
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our two favourites to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 54: Winter Beginnings
Our theme this week is Winter Beginnings. Autumn is coming to a close, and we’re starting to see the beginnings of winter in the northern hemisphere. In fact, just the other day it was snowing in the north of the UK. For this challenge, try to capture the beginning of winter. It might be frost on an early morning, an intense sunrise, or a bare tree with its autumnal colours fallen beneath it.

Last Week’s Favourite
Here is our favourite entry from last week’s submission, Rain! You can view all of the entries here.
Look at that poor stag! Drenched, his eyes convey a sense of helplessness. Okay, maybe I’m anthropomorphising this image a little too much. The soft flowers in the foreground and a nice depth to the shot, and the rain streaks are definitely there – although perhaps a slightly slower shutter speed would’ve had a more impressive effect on the rain. Just a suggestion, though, as these things aren’t always possible. A lovely, albeit wet, portrait!
