Weekly Photography Assignment: Wildlife Action

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 249: Wildlife Action
Our theme this week is Wildlife Action, and we’d love to see what fantastic nature photos you can take featuring wildlife in action! There are so many ways to capture nature in motion. This week, we encourage you to look for moments that you can ‘freeze’ with your camera. Look for animals interacting with each other or with their environment and try using faster shutter speeds to really capture the height of the action. Wildlife action is happening all around us, once we start to look! If you’re based in the city, look for urban wildlife interacting with humans. If you have some time in a wilder place, remember that action happens with even the smallest of creatures. Perhaps you will photograph not only a bird, but an insect in flight! Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for images of wildlife in action are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Colour – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by B B. We love the use of colour in this beautiful autumnal composition. The darker edges frame the central subject very well, and bring our eye through the centre of the frame. The choice of horizontal orientation also helps to showcase the breadth of the tree! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
