Weekly Photography Assignment: Seaside
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 141: Seaside
Our theme this week is the Seaside. With the last of the summer sun (if you’re in the northern hemisphere of course), it’s the perfect time to squeeze in a quick trip to the seaside, and we’d love to see what images you can take by the ocean. Can you shoot a sunset reflecting on the water? Or maybe you could play with long exposure to capture the movement of waves? Perhaps you’ll try for some macro photos of the treasures you find on the tideline!
Here are some tutorials to help you:
- How to Photograph the Coast
- How to Take Coastal Close-up Macro Photos
- How to Take Long Exposure Landscape Photos

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Feathers – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is by Jonesy with this lovely image of a feather found in their side yard after it rained. We love the gentle lighting and macro detail showcased in this shot – it highlights how beautiful and delicate individual feathers are!
