Weekly Photography Assignment: Perspective

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 159: Perspective

Our theme this week is Perspective and we’d love to see what creative nature images you can take using unusual perspectives! Perhaps you will photograph an animal from above, looking down and showcasing it in a new way? Maybe you will photograph a landscape with first a wide angle lens, and then a telephoto lens, to see how different two images can be of the same place with different perspectives? Or perhaps you’ll get down to ground level for a shot across open water to create an unusual point of view? The options are endless, and we can’t wait to see what creative perspectives you can create in your nature photos.

Here are some tutorials to help you:

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Night – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is ‘A Couple by the Moonlight,’ captured by Jorge Russo. We love how atmospheric and romantic this image is, with the way the moon has been exposed to just light up the edges of the bird ‘lovers,’  cozied up in their nighttime nest for a rest. Well done Jorge, and thank you to all who entered for the amazing images and thoughtful captions last week! (We loved getting to see the star cluster – what a gift photography is!)
