Weekly Photography Assignment: Creative May

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 174: Creative May

Our theme this week is Creative May and we’d love to see what creative nature photos you can create! May is full of possibilities, and this week we’d like you to experiment with your nature photography, daring to step outside of your comfort zone! Look for unusual or new ways to use lighting and composition, and think about how you might make an everyday subject seem more interesting. Perhaps you will give abstract nature photography a go, or experiment with long exposure techniques, or simply just try a something that is new to you. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or a total newbie, the options for creativity are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring new nature photos you can create.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Flowers – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Yitzpics. We love the bokeh effect created in the background of this image, and the way the photographer has gotten down to eye level with the subject really draws in the eye of the viewer. The lighting is also soft and diffused, making for a beautiful portrait of a very well loved flower species! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
