Weekly Photography Assignment: Birds
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 163: Birds
Our theme this week is Birds and we’d love to see what creative shots of birds you can take! Birds are a popular nature photography subject around the world, and you’ll have no shortage of choice as they can be found pretty much everywhere. Perhaps you will use fast shutter speeds to capture a bird in flight? Or maybe you will photograph a bird with a wide angle lens to include its environment in your image? You could even experiment with long exposure techniques to showcase the movement of a bird through the air! The options are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images of birds you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Rule of Thirds – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by C.P.C. of a ‘Possum on the Prowl.’ We love the composition, with the creative choice to position the subject on the right third of the image, and the way the surroundings have been lined up to showcase the ‘rule of thirds’ in action horizontally. These effects create a visually engaging and stimulating shot of a charismatic subject! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
