Weekly Photography Assignment: A New Perspective

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 200: A New Perspective

Our theme this week is A New Perspective, and we’d love to see what nature images you can take from a new perspective! The photography industry is saturated with beautiful nature images. To push yourself as a photographer, this week we’d like to see you looking for new perspectives in nature. Perhaps you will look up, to photograph the forest from the view of something at ground level. Maybe you will use a macro les, and get eye to eye with the tiniest aspects of the natural world. Or perhaps you will find a way to get up high and look down on the natural world. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or a total newbie, the options for photos of nature with a new perspective are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Leaves– and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Michael Berg ‘of a lonesome leaf on a early misty morning.’ We love the creative decision to isolate a single leaf. The use of negative space is highly effective in drawing our eye to that subject, and it’s expressive form seems to tell the story of encroaching winter. The depth of field is enough to also help us focus on the subject, whilst allowing for a complimentary background that also utilises the rule of thirds. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
