Weekly Photography Assignment: Water
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 264: Water
Our theme this week is Water, and we’d love to see how you can photograph water in all its forms, found in nature. Photographing water offers a plethora of photography opportunities. You may decide to incorporate it into your landscape images, through reflections, or a waterfall, or maybe even an ocean scene. Or, perhaps you will look to photograph wildlife in the rain, or capture dewdrops on some of your favourite macro subjects. Maybe you will even find frozen water, if you live somewhere cold enough! Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for capturing new and interesting photos of water are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

By submitting your photo, you are giving us permission to feature your photo the following week if it is chosen as one of our favourites. Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.
Here are some guidelines to keep things running smoothly:
- Photos must be your own work
- Please enter no more than 3 photos per week
- Please only enter photos taken within the week of the assignment
- Include a description with your photo and tell us a bit about it!

Last week’s theme was Sunrise and Sunset – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by S Jackson: This is a beautiful composition that allows the stunning landscape plenty of breathing room against a beautiful sky. It is wonderfully exposed to balance the bright colours of the sunset against the darker tones in the foreground, and the sweeping horizonal lines enhance the epansive feel of the scene. A brilliant image!
