Week 299: Signs of Autumn
Our theme this week is Signs of Autumn, and we’d love to see what fantastic images of nature you can take as we enter this new season! In the Northern Hemisphere, we are tipping into the season of autumn! Photographing signs of autumn can be a wonderful way to capture the beauty and essence of the season. Perhaps you will focus on the small details that represent autumn, such as fallen leaves, acorns, or dewdrops on spiderwebs. Macro photography can help you capture intricate textures and patterns that might go unnoticed. Or maybe you will photograph a wider landscape that has started to show off the tonal qualities of this new season. Take advantage of the soft, warm light during the golden hour, which occurs shortly after sunrise or before sunset. This light enhances the colors and adds a magical touch to your signs of autumn photos. If it isn’t autumn yet where you live, photograph things that remind you of this beautiful season. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for awesome images of the signs of autumn are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Golden Hour – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Flynn Thaitanunde-Lobb: ‘A hoverfly about to land on a clump of dying plant while the sun glitters in the distance.’
This image beautifully captures the aesthetics of the golden hour, with the soft interplay of light and tonal colours, and the clever use of bokeh through the background to add intrigue to the scene. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
