Weekly Photography Assignment: Sand
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our two favourites to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 55: Sand
Our theme this week is Sand. Our last few themes have embraced the changing seasons in the northern hemisphere, so it’s time for something that everyone can engage with!
For this theme, I want you to capture sand in anyway you see fit. It might be a beach (sorry to those in the north, beaches are no fun this time of year), or a desert. Perhaps you want to take a close-up macro shot of all the details, or a wide shot of a sandstorm ripping over some dunes.
Here are some tutorials to get you started:
Submit Your Photo
To enter your photo to this assignment, add it in the comments below this post. By submitting your photo, you are giving us permission to feature your photo the following week if it is chosen as one of our favourites.
Here are some guidelines to keep things running smoothly:
- Photos must be your own work
- Please enter no more than 3 photos per week
- Please only enter photos taken within the week of the assignment
- Include a description with your photo and tell us a bit about it!
You have until next Tuesday, 28th November, to submit your photo.
Last Week’s Favourite
Here is our favourite entry from last week’s submission, Winter Beginnings! You can view all of the entries here.
This photo totally goes with the theme I think. A scene like this is something that I love to see on a cold morning – it tells me my favourite season is really upon us. I like the fence here which runs through the shot, making sure we don’t forget about the right part of the image with the frost in the grasses. The sun trying to burst through the trees emphasises the misty conditions, and the cold tones are lovely. Great work!
