Weekly Photography Assignment: Mammals

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to force yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 147: Mammals

Our theme this week is Mammals and we’d love to see what mammals you can photograph. Will you try to get a close-up portrait with emotive and striking eye contact? Or perhaps you will use dawn and dusk lighting to create a beautifully lit image. Maybe you will try your hand at long-exposure to show the movement quality of a particular mammal! Whether you travel afar to look for one, or find one in your own garden, we can’t wait to see what you will create.

Here are some tutorials to help you:

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Garden Wildlife – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is by Melissa C. Rowell with this comical image of a squirrel. We love the way you’ve captured this charming moment, and the expression on the squirrel’s face. The blurred background allows us to focus in full delight on the subject – who is demanding our full attention, regardless, it seems! Great shot Melissa!
