Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 181: Macro

Our theme this week is Macro, and we’d love to see what creative macro photographs you can create showcasing the smallest parts of nature! This week we’d like to encourage you to look for the tiniest details in nature – things that are easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. Perhaps you will photograph dewdrops on leaves in the morning, or the wide eyes of an insect, or the centre of a newly emerged flower. There are small examples of beauty in nature everywhere if we just look! Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or a total newbie, the options are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring macro photos you can create.

Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.

Photos must be your own work
Please enter no more than 3 photos per week
Please only enter photos taken within the week of the assignment

Last week’s theme was Signs of Summer – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Gareth Peter Jones: ‘The Height of Summer for me, is when the Sunflowers reach their peak and display their amazing, intricate beauty.’ We love the way Gareth has chosen to fill the frame with this summery subject. The colours are inviting and the composition is unique and interesting, and captures the feeling of the arrival of this season! Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
