Weekly Photography Assignment: Weather
Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 275: Weather
Our theme this week is Weather, and we’d love to see how you can capture changing weather on camera. Perhaps you will photograph the movement of rain, and try photography techniques such as intentional camera movement, or long exposure. Maybe you will photograph dramatic cloudscapes as they pass overhead. You might decide to showcase a wildlife subject reacting to the weather; a fox enjoying some warmer weather, or a bird taking shelter from the rain. Perhaps there is even snow where you are, and you can photograph a frozen landscape. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for capturing new and interesting weather photos are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

By submitting your photo, you are giving us permission to feature your photo the following week if it is chosen as one of our favourites. Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.
Here are some guidelines to keep things running smoothly:
- Photos must be your own work
- Please enter no more than 3 photos per week
- Please only enter photos taken within the week of the assignment
- Include a description with your photo and tell us a bit about it!

Last week’s theme was Flowers – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Zoltan Dobany: ‘The photo was taken in an old pearl oak forest in the morning.’
This is a truly wonderful example of a flower portrait – the essence and spirit of the flower has been captured in a dynamic and engaging way to enhance the natural beauty of the subject. The use of bokeh is highly effective and creates a splendid backdrop to the central flower, positioned cleverly within the composition to allow room for the full breadth of its shape. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
