Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 203: Weather

Our theme this week is Weather, and we’d love to see what images you can of nature showcasing weather! At this time of year, the weather often starts to turn, and it can seem unappealing to get out to take new images! But what we often see as ‘bad weather’ can offer surprisingly rewarding opportunities for nature photography, if we’re willing to go look for them! Perhaps you will photograph wildlife in the rain, or look for incredible lighting just after a downpour. You might even find ways to photograph the tremulous clouds of an encroaching storm! Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or a total newbie, the options for photos of weather and its impact on nature are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Sunrise and Sunset – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Aarthi Lingala of ‘a picture of a piece of ice taken during the early sunset.’ We love the unique and interesting use of perspective in this image. It is an unusual shot, and gives us a new view point on an easily over-looked piece of nature. The bokeh effect helps to highlight the ‘golden hour’ effect of the lighting, and the blue effect helps draw our eye effectively into the centre of the scene. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
