Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 265: Trees

Our theme this week is Trees, and we’d love to see how you can photograph trees in nature. Photographing trees offers a plethora of image opportunities. You may decide to incorporate them into your landscape images, in forests or woodland scenes. Perhaps you will use a wide-angle lens to capture a tree in its entirety, or use a macro lens to look for the smaller details in trees. Maybe you will try to find a lone tree landscape, or use creative lighting to highlight the shape of a tree. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for capturing new and interesting photos of trees are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

Please keep images under 2MB in size otherwise you may have difficulty uploading them.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Water – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Zoltan Dobany: ‘I love the water droplets of fog. They are part of a magical world.’

This beautiful moment has captured water in a rare and beautiful form! The water droplets are crisp and filled with intriguing reflections, and the leading lines created by the web draw the viewer’s eye in an arc across the frame. The shallow depth of field allows us to focus on the subject; a pleasing and accomplished image.
