Weekly Photography Assignment: Summer Wildlife

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.

Week 186: Summer Wildlife

Our theme this week is Summer Wildlife, and we’d love to see what creative images of summer wildlife you can create! This week we’d like to encourage you to look for wildlife enjoying the summer months. If it’s not summer where you live, look for signs in nature that remind you of summer! Perhaps you will photograph a bird in flight on a beautiful clear afternoon, or your favourite mammal running through a field of wildflowers, or even have a go at photographing some of the smaller summer wildlife species with a macro lens! Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or a total newbie, the options for summer wildlife images are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring nature photos you can create.

Last week’s winner

Last week’s theme was Landscapes  – and our favourite image this week is:

This week’s winner is this image, captured by Jonesy: ‘I snapped this picture early in the morning at a lake near where I live.’ We love the use of dramatic lighting in this image, and the creative decision to explore a new and unusual perspective. It can be easy to take the same kinds of landscape photos again and again, but Jonesy has created a new, unusual and engaging composition of a familiar subject. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
