Week 260: Macro Moments
Our theme this week is Macro Moments, and we’d love to see how you might photograph the smallest aspects of nature found in your local area. We’re looking for unique and unusual macro images that explore the miniature world around us. Perhaps you will focus on the tiniest details of frost in the morning. Maybe you will zoom in on an insect to create an engaging portrait, or photograph a tiny flower from a new and interesting perspective. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or are new to the genre, the options for capturing new and interesting macro images are endless, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring shots you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Landscapes – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Chenxi Che: ‘This image was captured in downpouring rain, the wind was blowing at an overwhelming speed out in the open, I had to keep wiping water droplets off the front element. Overall, I think there is still room for improvement for this image, but it surely was a wild experience.’
This is a unique and bold landscape image, with a captivating composition. The decision to allow for the negative space to speak within the frame gives testament to the overall mood of the image, creating a more barren and desolate scene. The tilted frame is unsettling and effective, and the leading line sweeps our eye across the scene.
Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
