Weekly Photography Assignment: Birds

Each week we’ll be giving you a theme that you can submit a photo for, and we’ll choose our favourite to be featured on the Nature TTL website. Participating in these assignments will be a great way for you to encourage yourself to push the boundaries of your photography and improve together as a community on the website.
Week 193: Birds
In honour of the recent winners of the Bird Photographer of the Year competition, our theme this week is Birds, and we’d love to see what creative images you can take to showcase our feathery friends! Wherever you are in the world, this week we’d like to encourage you to try to capture images of birds. Perhaps you will look for moments of interesting bird behaviour, or pay close attention to the details of birds that are easily missed, or try to take unusual and creative images of these familiar creatures using long exposures or intentional camera movements. Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer, or a total newbie, the options for awesome bird photos are infinite, and we can’t wait to see what inspiring images you can create.

Last week’s winner
Last week’s theme was Changing Seasons – and our favourite image this week is:
This week’s winner is this image, captured by Kynzie Ware; ‘Sweater Weather; taken on a canon rebel XT.’ We love the way Kynzie has used the rule of thirds in this image. The green grass is complimented by the stormy sky, and hints at the cooler weather of Autumn to come. The depth of field and use of foreground are also particularly effective, and draw our eye into the image. Well done, and thank you to all who entered!
