Nikon’s Tiny 500mm Lens Has Been Spotted

Recently, Nikon announced that a new 500mm lens was in the works. It was a very special 500mm lens, though, as it made use of PF elements to ensure it was smaller and more lightweight than the current 500mm super telephoto.

Now the lens has been spotted out in the wild by Moscow-based photographer Pavel Bednyakov. The lens was being shown off at a “Nikon party” in Moscow, and this image shows just how small the lens is going to be.

That’s pretty impressive. Considering that the current Nikon 500mm telephoto is much bigger, this lens looks to be ideal for wildlife photographers looking to stay mobile and save on chiropractor bills.
