GoPro Captures Rare Unexpected Footage at Bird’s Nest

snake eats eggs

Having found a bird’s nest in his front yard, Tan Nguyen decided he wanted to try and capture the eggs hatching on camera. He put his GoPro nearby and left it on a timelapse, taking 1 photo every second in beautiful 4K resolution. But instead of capturing the birth of new life, his video shows something a little more disturbing: the true reality of nature as a snake slithers in and devours the unhatched eggs.

Note: We don’t recommend trying to film a nest close up, although in this case it appears that the nest was undisturbed. Have a read of our ethics of wildlife photography for more information.
