7 Father’s Day Gift Ideas for Photographers

With Father’s Day fast approaching, this year we’ve put together a list of some fun things you can buy for the photographer in your life this holiday. Sometimes it can be hard to come up with good ideas for gifts, so these photography themed items should hit the spot!

1. Manfrotto Magic Arm & Clamp & Camera Bracket

These are really cool. Particularly useful for someone trying out wildlife camera trapping, these magic arms by Manfrotto allow you to mount a camera, or flash, to pretty much anything. That could be in a tree, and is particularly useful when setting up flashes for camera trapping.

The sky is the limit for their use though. They’re available on Amazon, but make sure you also buy the clamp to allow you to anchor the arm to something, as well as the camera bracket to mount the camera.

2. Camera Ice Cube Tray

This one is just a bit of fun. A cheap and cheerful gift, this ice cube tray let’s your Dad shape his ice cubes as different cameras, flashguns, and lenses!

3. Build-Your-Own Film Camera Kit

Does your Dad love DIY projects? Then this might just be perfect. This kit comes with all the plastic pieces necessary to construct and build your own DSLR camera in 1-2 hours. It’s not just a model – this 35mm film camera actually works!

This one surprised us, too.

4. Wacom Tablet for Editing

Tablets are great for any Photoshop-lover looking to make precise, detailed edits to their photos. They offer a much more creative connection to the editing process than a computer mouse can provide. It’s just like putting pen to paper.

5. National Geographic Inspirational Photography Book

Rarely Seen: Photographs of the Extraordinary is a beautiful photo book from National Geographic. From volcanic lighting to rare animals and 30,000 year old cave paintings, this book is filled with inspirational images to get those creative juices flowing.

6. Camera Lens Coffee Mug

The perfect companion for a long day in the hide, this thermal flask is disguised as a camera lens. Just don’t make the mistake of putting your coffee into your actual lens.

7. Prepaid Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription

Give the gift of Photoshop and Lightroom with this 12-month prepaid Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. This will allow your Dad to edit his photos in industry-leading software for a whole year. Nice!
