AirMagic is Skylum’s New Drone Photo-editing Software

Taking to the skies for your photography can be a lot of fun, as drones open up a world of exciting new angles for the everyday image creator. But perhaps you just want to take your images on the fly, spending more time in the sky instead of the editing suite.

Well, Skylum are swooping in with their latest piece of software, AirMagic, to make troublesome aerial editing sessions “a thing of the past”. The company asserts that frequent issues such as high contrast, a lack of sharpness, low saturation and chromatic abberation can all be cured in a breeze through AirMagic.

Utilising a newly-developed Artificial Intelligence system, the software detects the drone camera used to understand its lens and colour profile. Using this information, it can correct common lens issues and perform other camera-specific “optimisations”.

When you drop your aerial photos into the app, it analyses each one individually, making use of a smart algorithm that can apply modifications on the go. Colour reveal, haze removal, sky enhancement, and a host of other adjustments are all tailored to each capture, helping recreate the scene as desired.

Skylum has also integrated batch processing, which they state will allow for processing of “up to 4 GB of photos simultaneously”. The one-click interface of AirMagic also gives users the option of five different “creative Styles,” to allow for further ease in editing. AirMagic will support all image formats, including raw, and can be used as a plugin in Adobe software.

A special preorder deal begins today, and runs until March 20th. At a whopping discounted price of just £35 (reduced from £167.99), this preorder will entitle you to the software, alongside a huge pack of bonuses.

These include a Drone Photography Guide eBook, an aerial photography video course, one AirMagic Premium Style, and a discount on a Lume Cube lighting kit for drones.
