Lightning Captured at 1000 Frames per Second is Truly Incredible

This film by Dustin Farrell is a must-watch for any weather watcher. Using a Phantom Flex4K video camera, Farrell was able to capture lightning strikes at an impressive 1000 frames per second.

The result is a beautiful film showing bolts developing and moving through the sky.

“This summer I [storm] chased for over 30 days and traveled 20,000 miles. My respect and admiration for storm chasers became even stronger this year,” says Farrell. “This is one of the most difficult projects I have ever attempted in my career.”

All in all, Farrell captured 10 terabytes (10,000 gigabytes) of data during this project.
