Ultra small group Andes Mountain “Scouting Mission” – Flamingoes by day & stars by night on Salar de Uyuni salt flats, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, Indigenous Cultures and more. Adventure and discovery are what scouting missions are all about.
I’ve had my eye on the Andes for a while and now it’s time to explore them – care to join me on an adventurous mountain photography tour?
I love huge mountains and the Andes are as big as they come in the western hemisphere. The itinerary is pretty flexible. Machu Picchu is a must-see, of course. Also, I can’t wait to try my hand at those crazy reflection photos and night photography on the enormous salts flats of the Salar de Uyuni. Rainbow Mountain looks wonderful too, and I am sure we’ll have some great opportunities to capture some of the indigenous cultures of the Andes. But beyond that, it’s mainly a mystery. That’s what makes this photo tour so appealing.
Highlights of this Andean Mountain Photography Expedition:
- Unique Machu Picchu
- Flamingoes by day and the Milky Way by night on the world’s highest desert and biggest salt flats (Salar de Uyuni)
- The rarely visited ‘other side’ of Rainbow Mountain
- Street Photography in Cusco, La Paz and Lima
- Sunrise & Sunset Landscape Photography in the 7 Lakes Valley, in the heart of the Andes
- Fascinating indigenous mountain people and cultures
What’s a Scouting Mission?
Are you keen for adventure and discovery whilst enjoying a photography workshop? Is not knowing exactly what tomorrow holds more appealing than the predictability of the beaten path? If your answer to these questions is yes (or even “hell yes!”), then a Scouting Mission could suit you perfectly!
In a nutshell, a Scouting Mission is a trip where I take a very small group of photographers (3 max) to a place I’ve never been before to lay the groundwork for future photography workshops. I used to do these trips alone, but I’ve discovered that the company of a few like-minded souls makes it more fun for all involved.
