Join us in New Mexico for a 5-day photography workshop at White Sands and Bosque del Apache, two exquisite natural areas that lend themselves perfectly for photography. You’ll be guided by landscape photographer Alain Briot and art teacher Natalie Briot, who will help you improve your photography skills.
We’ll start this landscape photography workshop in Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, a 7000-acre reserve that has a great variety of landscapes, including lush flood plains and vast desert terrain. The wetlands attract a wealth of birds, and it’s particularly well known for huge flocks of wintering cranes.
Next, we’ll will visit the Valley of Fires, an area of surreal landscapes with lava flows, and the Three Rivers Petroglyph site. Three Rivers features several thousands of petroglyphs, which are hugely photogenic.
We’ll then head to White Sands National Monument, where we’ll take our time to explore and photograph this phenomenon. A landscape photographer’s dream, the White Sands are glistening sand dunes with an almost magical appearance. We’ll use the changing light to capture this scene in different ways, and we’ll use yuccas and other plants to provide a visual contrast. We will lead you to the very best spots in this impressive field of dunes.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll be guided by Alain Briot and Natalie Briot, who will help you improve your eye for good compositions and of working well with color and light. They’ll ensure you’ll leave with improved skills and a portfolio of images you can be proud of.
