Come and photograph the incredible osprey in the Cairngorms, Scotland. The birds you will photograph nest nearby, and we have two canvas hides (one 2 person & one 1 person) that overlook natural perches on the riverbank.
The ospreys are attracted to food placed strategically on a natural perch in a beautiful location within the Cairngorms National Park. Under normal circumstances, the male will arrive and settle down to eat the fish which usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes allowing for plenty of opportunity for photography. Once the food is gone, it is unlikely that the osprey will return. To get the best from your session and to avoid unnecessary disturbance it is very important to photograph responsibly and act in the osprey’s best interest.
This hide lasts throughout July and into the beginning of August when the birds are breeding nearby. The hide relies on a pair returning each year from west Africa and breeding successfully, therefore it can only be confirmed as running close to the time (visit our website to get confirmation). There is a 15 minute walk to the hide and our guide will escort you in and back out again. Before leaving, you will exchange mobile numbers so you can keep in touch during the session.
