This diving gannet photography workshop will let you experience this specialised seabirds torpedo into the water at speeds of up to 60mph. Gannets will seek out mackerel, pollock, herring, and other large fish. These diving gannet photography boat trips are geared towards getting you in the prime position for capturing this spectacle on camera.
To achieve this, we will be chumming (throwing dead fish) so that the gannets come in close to the boat. You'll see hundreds of birds diving in front of you, surfacing with fish. We often see individuals fighting over their catches, too, so there is plenty of opportunity for action shots.
Your workshop leader is Steve Race, an award-winning wildlife photographer, who will be on-hand for the 4-hour duration. He'll help you to capture brilliant images of the seabird colonies of Flamborough Headland and Bempton Cliffs.
The Diving Gannet photography workshop is open to all abilities of photographer, whether you are an amateur or a professional looking to expand your portfolio.
